Please spread the word to child abuse survivors in California that AB 218 will be sent to Governor Gavin Newsom for his signature according to the bill’s history. It is hard to believe that it passed the State Senate and then was quickly sent to the Assembly.
The Assembly suspended Rule 63 and concurred with the Senate amendments. AB 218 was then sent to engrossing and enrolling on September 14, 2019. Now we ask you to help this important bill to be signed into law.
If you live in California, we encourage you to please call the office of Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez at (916) 319-2080 to thank the Assemblymember for her courage to champion such a difficult issue. We are hoping that next year she will champion other critical child protection measures. Also, call your local State Assembly representatives and encourage their continued support.
