A former JW elder and his son living in Newfoundland must answer to child abuse charges filed against them.
Shoal_Bay-Avalon-2CBC News reports that a former Jehovah’s Witness elder and his son are facing charges of child abuse in central Newfoundland.
The charges include sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor child based on allegations dating between 2009 to 2012.
According to court documents, the second man is also charged with alleged sexual assault between May 2011 and December 2013 in a community on the Avalon Peninsula. According to the court documents and confirmed by CBC News, the men accused of these crimes are father and son and involve the same complainant.
